Reservations
Note: Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance.
Using the Makerspace for Classes:
The Makerspace is a great space to use if your class has physical deliverables that need to be constructed. Many classes reserve the space throughout the year to develop their projects: EGEN 105's Rube Goldberg Machines, EMEC 103's Mousetrap Cars, and EGEN 310R's initial prototypes. Classes can also reserve a single class period for an introductory tour of the Makerspace or a build activity. If you don't need to reserve a block of time for your class but would rather have students come in at their convenience, please still follow the instructions below.
Using the Makerspace for Clubs:
The Makerspace is available to registered student organizations as a meeting, building, or instructional space. Clubs and other organizations can host an event of their own design or work with the director to develop a targeted project using Makerspace equipment. Clubs typically choose to host events in the evening during the week as the Makerspace director must be present for all events. Please follow the instructions below to request to reserve the Makerspace.
Reservation or Use Instructions:
Please send requests for reservations or use via email to the lab director.
Instructors are strongly encouraged to meet with the Lab Director to discuss specific needs and plans before their reservation.
Include the following:
- Date(s) and time(s) of the reservation
- A brief description of how the space will be used
- If applicable, assignment details as they will be given to students
- Any requests for tools, materials, or other necessary preparations
