In the 36th year of honoring outstanding individual performance and contributions by classified and professional staff, and in alignment with the MSU Service Excellence standards, we are pleased to kick off the 2025 program and invite you to submit a nomination of a deserving staff member!   As in past years, the Service Excellence standards (Safety, Courtesy, Reliability, Competence) will continue to serve as the foundation for our Employee Recognition Awards program at Montana State University!  

Award winners will be announced at an awards celebration on April 30, 2025 at 9 am.  Award recipients will be selected for demonstrating exemplary service excellence in their jobs and will receive awards of $1000 cash.

• Individual "Employee of the Year" awards: Staff members will be selected for their excellence in demonstrating each of the 4 Service Excellence standards in performing their jobs.
• Bobcat Lifetime Achievement Award:  An individual will be selected who provides exemplary service on a daily basis in all four standards of excellence and has devoted a significant portion of their career to MSU.

 Nomination Procedures:

• Please limit your submission to 2 nominations.
• Supporting documentation (maximum of 5 pages) may be uploaded. 
• Nominations will be accepted from the general MSU community (faculty, staff and students), on behalf of another eligible employee.

• Nomination materials will be shared with individual nominees so please be thorough in your submission.

Eligibility: 

The awards program is open to all permanent professional and classified employees of Montana State University in Bozeman. This includes MSU Extension Offices, Agricultural Research Centers, and MSU Extended Nursing campuses.
