Dr. Steven Swinford

Vice President for Student Success
 
Dr. Steven Swinford earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from Bowling Green State University and has been a dedicated member of Montana State University for over 25 years. Throughout his tenure, Dr. Swinford has held positions such as Vice Provost and professor and has taught a variety of courses, including research methods, family violence, culture, social psychology, and social stratification. His research focuses on topics such as couple violence, substance use among emerging adults, and advancements in survey methodologies. Beyond his research and teaching commitments, Dr. Swinford actively participates in initiatives aimed at enhancing programs for student retention, persistence, and graduation at MSU.

Jennifer Joyce

Assistant to the Vice President
for Student Success
 
Jennifer Joyce, with more than 15 years as an MSU Bobcat, presently holds the position of Assistant to the Vice President for Student Success. In this role, she handles a diverse range of responsibilities, including budget oversight and providing support to various departments and programs. Originally from Butte, Montana, Jennifer earned her Bachelor's Degree from Montana Technological University and her Master's Degree from Montana State University.

Meredith Given 

Business Operations Manager 

Meredith Given grew up in Richmond, Virginia, and after spending a year working in Spain following highschool went on to earn a bachelors degree in International Affairs and Spanish from James Madison University. After graduating she moved to Big Sky, Montana where she planned to work one short season as a ski instructor, however, four years later still enjoys spending her weekends up there working with the locals program. Meredith presently serves as the business operations manager for Student Success, offering support to Student Success, the Dean of Students Office, and of course, the MSU students. Her role involves collaboration with Fiscal Shared Services, Student Emergency Fund management, and aiding with the Notetaking Program, in addition to various other responsibilities.
