Psychology Office Allocations & Space Reclassification: Traphagen Hall
Description of Request
Submitted By: Benjamin Clegg
The Department of Psychology requests approval to reallocate and change the use of two lab service areas (Traphagen 416 and 418) into offices to accommodate two full-time non-tenure track (NTT) faculty members. This request follows the department’s recent hiring of two tenure-track faculty, creating a shortage of office space. The department has expressed a strong preference to keep its teaching faculty located in Traphagen Hall due to their essential contributions to the university’s core mission. The proposed reassignment, moving the current NTT faculty from Traphagen 309 and 311 to 416 and 418, has been endorsed by the lab principal investigators currently occupying the latter rooms. Although the proposed spaces are smaller than standard office allocations, both the department and faculty members have agreed to the arrangement to maintain proximity and departmental continuity.
