Step 3

If adding personnel to an IBC protocol, all the requirements in Step 1 and Step 2

must be completed before advancing to Step 3

PI Actions Information
  • PI to ensure training completion and review IBC protocol with onboarding personnel
  • All requirements listed in Step 1 must be completed for IBC protocol approval to be granted
  • PI submits an amendment to add personnel to IBC protocol
**Protocol amendment will be Returned for Modification if Step 1 is incomplete

Laboratory Requirements for all Personnel Information
  • Read MSU Biosafety Manual
  • Read and sign Laboratory Specific Biosafety Manual (review annually)
  • Read and understand Pathogen Safety Data Sheets
  • Document lab-specific training (template found in Appendices of Laboratory Specific Biosafety Manual)
