Health Professional Scholarships
1) The Dr Harry A. & Mary G. Crecelius Medical Scholarship criteria:
- One of the following:
– Junior or senior intending to attend an accredited School of Medicine
– Enrolled in a School of Medicine through the WWAMI-MT Program - Be a Montana resident.
- Have demonstrated financial need
- GPA>3.0
2) The Robert M. Kendall Memorial award criteria:
- Students applying to or accepted to an accredited School of Medicine
- Montana high school graduate
- Demonstrated financial need
- Junior status or above
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
3) The Cameron Pioneer Memorial Pre-Med Scholarship criteria:
a) full time student in 'pre-med' degree (sophomore status and above)
b) Montana resident
c) Minimum GPA of 3.0.
d) have financial need (as determined by the MSU financial aid office so FAFSA submission required)

4) The Bireley Pre-Med Scholarship:
The David and Maxine Bireley Pre-Med Scholarship is in recognition of superior academic achievement and potential for a successful medical career as a practicing physician. We expect to award one scholarship annually for $950. The scholarship can only be used for undergraduate study at Montana State University.
Applicant Eligibility:
- Enrolled as an undergraduate student at Montana State University.
- Pursuing a degree or credential in preparation for a career in medicine.
- Eligible for membership in the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society.
- Has taken the MCAT.
Scholarship Application Materials:
Please submit the following to the Honors College office via email attachment to
honors@montana.edu:
1. Cover letter (1 page) explaining your interest in the scholarship, your career
goals and
current educational path, and timeline to attain those goals. Cover letter should
also include
your contact information (mailing address, email address, telephone number).
2. Personal statement that will be / has been used in medical school applications.
3. Current transcript (unofficial is acceptable).
4. Resume (maximum two-pages).
5. Official copy of your MCAT scores.
6. One letter of recommendation from an MSU faculty member or the committee letter
from
Health Professions Advising attesting to your potential for success in medical school.
Application Deadline
The application is due by July 15. The scholarship will be applied the following Fall
semester.
