Crawford Wildlife Habitat Scholarship

Below is detailed information on the Application process.
Required Qualifications:

Open to all MSU graduate students (master's/doctoral) engaged in research, outreach, or creative activities related to wildlife habitat.
- Must apply by February 1; no applications will be considered after this date.
- Applicant must be in good academic standing.
- Applicants must be enrolled students for the terms of the award.

Applicants for this scholarship must write a one-page essay.
To Apply:
Please write a one-page, single-spaced essay and answer the questions below. Ensure your paper clearly emphasizes how you will contribute to the understanding of wildlife habitat. The paper should be written clearly and avoid jargon and technical language. The essay must be written in a manner that is understandable and relevant, knowing that there will be an academically diverse group of faculty members reviewing all submissions.
Before you submit, be sure you have included the following in your essay:
- Title of your project
- A short (two-sentence) abstract of your project
- On the upper right-hand corner:

- Last name, first name, middle name

- State your department and your graduate program

- Degree level (Master's/Doctoral)
Award Information:

Applications will be reviewed by a fellowship committee representing the various departments across the MSU campus.
- Press release and awardee announcements will be made by the end of April; awardees will be notified by the end of March.

The maximum scholarship that can be awarded to a single department is 20% of the total applicants applying for the scholarship.

The recipients of this scholarship will receive $5,000 each semester, deposited to their student account (fall/spring; master's and doctoral students only).
- Awardees will be required to write a 'thank you' letter to the Crawford family once they have received the award.Cat$cholarships will provide instructions on this process.

This funding can be combined with other funding the student may receive from the university (i.e., GTA/GRA, professional funding) or outside the universityand will be in addition to other funding.
- The funds will be deposited into the awarded students' accounts by the 10th class day. The scholarship will cover student fees, tuition, and other attendance costs. Any remaining funds will be refunded to the student in the manner the student has set up in their personal account.

These are annual awards. Eligible students can reapply each year. Master's students can receive the award for up to three (3) years, and doctoral students for up to five (5) years.

To reapply for this scholarship, you will do so through CAT-Scholarships each fall.
