Hike through Green Jobs in Green Spaces Guide

 

Use these questions as a scavenger hunt to familiarize new audiences to PLT’s Green Jobs in Green Spaces unit.

 

1. Name three benefits of green jobs.

2. Find “Ten STEM Skills for Everyone” and one “STEM It Up!” suggestion. Which STEM Skill(s) does the “STEM It Up!” suggestion use or develop?

3. In which activity do learners research a forest career?

4. Name your favorite tip for conducting a successful informational interview.

5. Where might you find forestry professionals to meet with learners? Hint: There’s a list of suggestions somewhere in the guide.  

6. In which activity do learners create a management plan for a fictional forest?

7. Find a “Career Connections” callout box in one of the activities. How might you use the “Career Connection” suggestion provided with your audience?

8. Identify the seven indicators that learners use to assess the health of a forest stand.  

9. Where can you find descriptions of example jobs that might conduct forest health assessments?

10. Describe two different definitions of the term sustainability.
