FALLON COUNTY  REQUIREMENTS CHECKLIST

Include this form in your record books

REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLETING THE 4-H YEAR

ENROLL in 4-H and complete at least one project.

RECORD BOOKS: Complete records for 50% of projects enrolled in.  Typed or handwritten.

Submit records to your Organizational Leader by the 2nd Wednesday in September.

  • No credit for the 4-H Year for records book handed in after Oct. 1.
  • Youth enrolled in a Livestock Project must complete their record book to be eligible to sell an animal at the following years fair. 

Include “My 4-H Year” Record (green sheet)

  • Complete all sections in the “form with no obvious omissions.
  • Member and Leader Signature where required.
  • Enter “none” for sections of the form for which you have no entries.
  • List at least 3 goals for the 4-H Year.  These should be non-project goals.  Examples: leadership, citizenship,    community service, other.
  •  Complete “Summary of 4-H Year”

Include Project sheets for each project enrolled in.

  • List at least 3goals for each project.
  • Include  activities related to your project (what you did, what you made, what you learned )
    • Level 1: 7 Activities are required out of project manual
    • Level 2 & above: 5 Activities are required. If activities are not from the project manual, activities will      need to be approved by Extension Office. Non-project manual activities will need to be written in a    paragraph describing learning activity.
  • Include Project Manual if you have completed activities in it.  A Leader or parent MUST date and initial the     activities as you complete them.  A total of 21 completed active ties from the Level 1 manual are required in 3 years or less to complete Level 1.
  • Complete all sections of the form, entering “N/A” for portions of  the records that do not apply to your type of project.

 Include photos, certificates and anything else you wish.  

 

REQUIREMENTS TO EXHIBIT AT THE  FALLON COUNTY FAIR

  • Have record books up-to-date by August 10th of the current 4-H Year
  • Participate in one County Event.
  • Do a demonstration at a club or County Level.
  • Attend 80% of clubs meetings during the current 4-H Year
  • Attend  a Livestock Quality Assurance program every other year to show and sell a market animal at  fair and be eligible to participate in state wide carcass contests.  This includes beef, sheep, swine, goats,  rabbits, and poultry. 

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE FALLON COUNTY 4-H COUNCIL FOR 4-H TRIPS

  •  Complete 4-H Records Books each Year
  • Participate in one County Event.
  • Do a demonstration at a club or County Level.
  • Attend 80% of clubs meetings during the current 4-H Year
  • Be a member in good standing
  • Participate in all 4-H Council Fundraisers
    • Sell at least 5 boxes of fruit
    • Work scheduled hours in the 4-H Food Booth at the Fair
  • Complete Reimbursement Form
  • Give Report at Council Meeting and/or Achievement Night
