Undergraduate Research Assistant in Stream Ecology
Duration: Academic Year 2025-2026 (September- May), with potential to extend based on performance & funding.
Hours: 15-20 hours a week
Pay: $15.93/Hour

Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking motivated, detail-oriented undergraduates to assist with processing aquatic invertebrate samples in a laboratory setting. Primary tasks include:
· Sorting and picking aquatic invertebrates from stream samples using a microscope
· Maintaining accurate records of processed samples
· Ensuring quality and consistency in data collection
· Working independently and following established lab protocols
Preferred Qualifications:
· Current undergraduate student at MSU
· Interest in ecology, environmental science, natural resources, or related fields
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Strong communication skills and professionalism
· Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
· No prior lab experience required—training will be provided

Department Assistant - Earth Sciences Department
The Earth Sciences student Department Assistant supports reception, web site and communications functions, and non-sensitive administrative tasks under the supervision of the Business Operations Manager. We seek an assistant available for 8-12 hours/week in 2 or more shifts during business hours (M-F, 8am-5pm), to be arranged around class schedules. Pay: $16 an hour.

Events Associate - ChampChange
Seeking a work-study student who has good communication skills, is organized, and likes to be creative to help with MSU'sChampChangeEngagement Program! The main responsibilities will be helping brainstorm incentive event projects, help purchase and organize items and prizes, help prep and implement the events, receive and store packages/prizes, help communicate, record data, and wrap-up events.Approximately 5 hours/week of work, however we're flexible with working less or more hours per week depending on the student's and theChampChangeProgram's needs.
